It can bring relief when you find yourself trapped on an emotional rollercoaster. The technique involves simply touching specialized acupressure points with very light touch which act as emotional pressure release valves. When held, these points help to calm your brain and reduce the length of time that stress hormones circulate through your body causing discomfort.

Finding Your Stress-Release Acupoints
Have you ever noticed that when people are stressed they often place their palm on their forehead? This instinctive gesture is a subconscious attempt to release stress because the forehead is home to two very powerful stress-release acupoints. To make this activity work especially well, here’s what you need to do:
Consider what’s causing stress and activate your senses as much as possible. Visualize the stressful situation, hear the conversations, feel the emotions, and notice if you can locate where the stress is stuck in your body.
Do this while keeping a light touch on your forehead for 30–60 seconds because it releases your internal emotional pressure. It doesn’t matter whether you use the palm of your left or right hand.
While still holding your forehead, you can now start thinking about a desirable outcome. Even if you don’t know how to resolve the situation, just allow yourself to pretend that everything is turning out just fine. If you can imagine this in your mind’s eye, see what that would look like, hear what it would sound like, feel how that would look like, and notice your new thoughts about the situation. Enjoy this sensation for a few moments. This ‘imagine the new future’ step is optional but well worth the extra few seconds that it takes.
Let go of your forehead when you notice that you are taking a deep breath or when your mind begins to wander.
Take a few full breaths and observe the difference in how you feel.
